About Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA)
The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) is a municipal joint-action agency that provides wholesale electricity to 43 municipally-owned electric systems in Oklahoma. As a consumer-owned public power entity, OMPA is owned by the member cities it serves. OMPA was created in 1981 by the Oklahoma State Legislature to provide adequate, reliable, and affordable power to Oklahoma municipalities and public trusts operating municipal electric systems. OMPA offers various services to its member cities, including customer service and communication, marketing, and utility enhancement programs.
